A NATIONAL LEADER IN FEMALE FOOTBALL

North Turramurra FC is proud to be a Football Australia 3-Star Accredited Club. This top-level recognition reflects our commitment to providing the best possible environment for women and girls to play, coach and lead.

  • As Pioneers: We fielded our first all-female team in 1961, just four years after our founding.

  • Rapid Growth: Since launching our inaugural Junior Girls team in 2018, we have expanded to over 15 dedicated female teams.

  • Strong Representation: Today, female players make up 40% of our total membership, supported by a thriving network of female coaches, managers, and committee members.

With teams spanning various age-related formats, there is a place for every player at the Magpies.

WHY THE RAINBOW SOCKS?

If you see a flash of rainbow on the field, you’re looking at an NTFC tradition!

Born in 2018 from the imagination of our junior Girls U9 Unicorns where legend has it that these beautiful, yet fierce mythical beasts had legs adorned with rainbows which was inspiration for their use on the field.

These socks represent the spirit, creativity, and fun of our female football program and today are a proud symbol of our girls' and women's teams across the club.

GIRLS U6 & U7 HUBS

Sparking a Lifelong Love for Football

Welcome to our Sunday morning football program! Hosted by the NSFA, our Under 6 and Under 7 hubs are designed specifically for our youngest female players. Our mission is simple: inspiring every girl to love the game while building lasting friendships.

How it Works

The program focuses on building skills and self-esteem in a supportive environment:

  • Skill Development: Players participate in engaging activities designed to boost coordination and confidence.

  • Small-Sided Games: We wrap up each session with fun, small-sided matches that ensure everyone gets plenty of time on the ball.

  • Community Spirit: With an increasing number of local girls joining every year, your daughter will be part of a growing community of young players.

Location & Logistics

To make participation convenient for families, clubs are split into North and South hubs.

  • Venues: North Hub locations typically alternate between the Turramurra and Hornsby areas.

  • Schedule: Training is Wednesdays with Hub sessions held every Sunday morning.

See it in Action: Want to see what a typical session looks like? Watch this short video HERE.

Get Involved

We continue to enter teams into the G6 and G7 age groups and would love to have your daughter join us!

💎 Sapphires: Girls’ Football (U8 – U11)

Building Confidence, Community, and a Love for the Game.

Welcome to Sapphires, our dedicated Sunday football program designed specifically for girls aged 8 to 11. We believe that when girls play in a supportive, engaging environment, they don’t just learn football—they build lifelong friendships and confidence.

Why Join the Sapphires?

  • The Power of Fun: Our primary focus is on enjoyment. We keep the pressure low and the engagement high.

  • Play with Friends: We prioritize school and friendship groups. If you have a group of friends who want to play together, we’ll make it happen!

  • Balanced Competition: Through regular "regrading," the association ensure teams play against others of a similar skill level so every match is rewarding.

  • Flexible Scheduling: We know Sunday mornings are busy. We work closely with parents to request specific kickoff times to avoid clashes with other commitments.

SPECIAL PLAYER EXPERIENCES

We continue to work closely with the Northern Suburbs Football Association, Football NSW and Sydney FC to promote female participation. We have access to some amazing special events, player meetings and signing opportunities. We are regular invitees to Sydney FC women’s training sessions along with special game day events. Our girls are given the opportunity to walk out with the players on game day, participate in half time events and as ball kids for matches at Stadium Australia, Allianz Stadium and Leichhardt Oval.

It is a very enjoyable experience for all our female players (mums and dads included!)

FEMALE COACHING

In 2022, NTFC led the association for female coach representation (33%) and we are always seeking suitably qualified, experienced or interested coaches for to guide our female teams. We use coaching partner Vision Football who provide dedicated female coaches that work with players and teams. Our coaches focus on fun, building a love for the game, confidence and skills development. We find that our female coaches provide a welcoming entry point for girls who may ‘initially’ be a little hesitant to participate.
